Saturday wrapped up the 2021 Super Series for our crew, with the final race being held at the jacaranda lined four corner Unley crit circuit.

With forecasts of torrential rain, the weather gods changed their mind at the very last minute and the weather turned on – with a balmy day and very pleasant temperatures for both riders and spectators.

In Cat 3, the race stayed together with Juan Molina taking 7th place in the sprint. That landed Juan just outside of the top 10 on GC for the series, and fifth in the sprint points. A fantastic result considering Juan didn’t have a team around him – something we’ll need to sort out for 2022!

In Cat 2, the first ten minutes were tough with the bunch staying together. Adam Bowey managed to take second in the first set of sprint points… but as often happens, a powerful break snuck away after the sprint, and from there a disorganised bunch were unable to reel them back in. With a break of 7 up the road, Tyson managed to take 4th in the bunch kick – landing just outside of the points for the day.

With our series wrapped up, Adam took second in the sprint points while the team finished fifth on team GC. A solid effort for the team’s first Super Series – with many lessons learnt and genuine excitement to get back at it in 2022.

For now we’re focussing on the summer ahead of weeknight crit racing, weekend club races and Tour of Goolwa in February.

Thanks to the organisers at AusCycling South Australia for their tireless work in putting on such a fantastic series of races and of course to James Raison (@rideadelaide) and Hayden Archie (Turn 8 Photo) for their amazing photographic contribution over the series!
